Mark – Family Garage Door
In 2015 I decided to take the leap of faith to start my own garage door company. So why did I sell?
How I Started
I always wanted to work for myself, doing business the right way for people and running my own schedule. I enjoyed the freedom and independence of ownership, but after just a few years the same benefits I found early changed over time. I found myself stressed out, over worked and unable to keep up with all the demands of running a growing, successful garage door company.
The demands and the stress took their toll. I was worn out, physically ill and missing out on the most important things in life. I lost the joy of what I loved most about garage doors and found myself changed, sick and mentally unhealthy.
A Change For A Better Greatness
The day Tommy Mellow called changed the outcome of my life. I was ready to move out of the role of active owner, but very concerned about the reputation I spent so much time building would be destroyed. After meeting Tommy, observing the A1 operation in Phoenix, listening to his employees and seeing how he runs his company, I felt very sure about my decision. I was right.
Family Garage Door Still A Huge Success
Tommy made a fair contract offer and he fulfilled and honored the contract as agreed. I now know the company I built is in good hands and those customers are getting the very best possible experience. I was very thankful to A1 and excited to continue to see how they have grown my business, while staying true to the Family Garage Door values.
Selling my business to A1 was the best decision I could have made.
